GRADUATION!
CLASS OF 13-16 GRADUATION: June 16, 2016
The Sandwich Citizens Police Academy graduated its Class of 13-16 on June 16, 2016. After welcoming remarks by Chief Peter Wack; a brief introduction by the new Sandwich Harbormaster, Captain Kondratowicz; and comments from Lt. Bound, Sgt. Lawrence, and Officer Gilrein, Sgt. Lawrence presented each graduate with his or her diploma and the traditional "bag of swag." The bag contained, among other items, a personalized windbreaker with the SPD patch, an ever-popular and highly coveted SPD coffee mug, a class photo suitable for framing, a challenge coin/medallion, and information on how to join the SCPAA volunteer organization. This fun-loving group is always involved in something taking place around town--Stuff-a-Cruiser, the July 4th Parade, Trunk or Treat, and First Night. Also included in the bag was an evaluation form so that students could provide feedback to Sgt. Lawrence and his fellow presenters on what they liked about the class. There can't be anything that they DIDN'T like, can there? Two graduates provided their own comments on how much they enjoyed the class and how much they appreciated the time and effort that Sgt. Lawrence and the other officers put into it. After enjoying a delicious dinner, graduates and guests were treated to a hilarious slide show of class photos put together by absent Deputy Chief Michael Nurse--who sent his regrets from his balcony overlooking a scenic vista in Italy.
